  2. Financial Transaction System

  4. STF, Financial Transaction System, is a transactional software
  5. solution for branch office automation in banks and financial
  6. institutions.
  7.  
  8. STF automates bank branch functions, by providing on-line access
  9. to information, using workstations for tellers, at public reception
  10. desks, on the commercial platform and at self-service stations.
  11. This permits immediate updating of the data base following each
  12. commercial transaction with clients.

  14. STF offers significant advantages for users. The automation of
  15. branch offices allows institutions to increase productivity, offer
  16. new and better services, reduce the risk of errors and omissions
  17. and improve the quality of customer service. This is made possible
  18. by having on-line, realtime access to information, allowing
  19. verification of account balances, statements, signatures,
  20. authorizations, and cash balances. It also permits the
  21. incorporation of high productivity tools, such as electronic
  22. spreadsheets, word processing, electronic mail and other
  23. applications.

  26. simulations, perform calculations, open accounts and maintain
  27. general information, as well as demonstrate -including in graphical
  28. form- different investment or financing alternatives. It provide
  29. better information for account executives about the products and
  30. services of the institution, resulting in improved sales
  31. incentives.  It allows instantaneous emission of documents.

  33. STF runs in financial transaction development and productions
  34. environments on VAX computers from Digital Equipment Corporation.
  35. The individual work stations can be PC compatible microcomputers,
  36. asynchronous video terminals or the Pinnacle financial terminals
  37. of ISC Systems CORP. The system can be implemented as a
  38. geographically distributed process, as well as interchange
  39. transactions with IBM computers operating under SAFE.

  41. STF can be easily integrated with back office system, such as
  42. current accounts, savings, credit and other interrelated systems.
  43. STF includes TDL, a high level language designed specially    for the
  44. financial environment, with which application are generated, both
  45. for the work stations and the VAX processor.

  47. Its production environment is composed of transaction manager,
  48. COBOL applications generated by TDL, data base serves, and
  49. communications servers dedicated to transmission and reception of
  50. transaction between the VAX processors.
